It's almost 2026, pepperheads!

Last season I went overboard with superhots and ended up with more pain than salsa. For 2026, my resolution is balance. Grow varieties I’ll actually cook with, not just dare friends to eat.

So what’s your 2026 game plan? Chasing new hybrids, boosting those yields, or is this finally the year you dial in that legendary hot sauce recipe you’ve been tinkering with?

I hit the same wall last year. too many superhots, not enough meals I could actually enjoy. This season I’m leaning toward jalapeños, aji amarillo, and maybe one token “danger pepper.” What varieties do you find yourself reaching for most when you cook?

This is the year I finally perfect my fermented peach‑habanero sauce, at least that’s the plan.
