I am planning my 2025 chilli trial made me realize most growers have different goals and with a cool, damp climate, success means choosing the right varieties for my greenhouse. After wasting years on poorly suited plants, I finally found a reliable performer: Ring of Fire. It fruits early, grows strong, and suits my cooking needs. Unlike others chasing the latest hybrids, I'm focused on finding a few "keeper" varieties that thrive consistently. This year I'm trialing 7 Pot Jonah, Douglah, Fatali, and several Habaneros and Bonnets. My goal isn't novelty, just heat, flavor, and reliability in my microclimate, once I find my core few, I'm done experimenting.
