Growing the hottest peppers

I’ve always loved trying crazy hot sauces, so now I want to grow the peppers myself. Which peppers are considered the hottest right now? And do they actually taste good, or is it just about the burn? I’m also wondering how to handle them safely when harvesting.. gloves, goggles, the whole deal??

I personally don't care for the hottest that I need gloves, and nose/eye protection.
That said, you should definitely be careful and wash your hands even when dealing with jalapenos, which can be spicy enough.
