hot pepper that can last all season

I really like spicy dishes. I have been eating spicy food since I was 12. I don't think I've ever eaten a non spicy dish for the last 10 years. now I want to step up to the next lvel by planting some hot peppers, or maybe small chili in a pot.
I'm in Michigan, and okay, I know it's almost winter, is this a bad time to start growing one?
What kind of peppers can last all season? I'm obviously don't know anything about this, need advice from you guys, so I don't mess this up

Hi @PepperLife_! Peppers love heat, but I think planting outside in Michigan winter won’t work. Try starting them in pots indoors, jalapeños and Thai chilies do well in containers and can last the whole summer once moved outside.

Michigan winters are tough for peppers outdoors, but you can start them indoors now with grow lights. Most hot peppers (like cayenne or Thai chili) are perennials in warm climates, so with indoor care they’ll last year‑round.

If you can get Capsicum flexuosum to sprout, it can endure cold temperatures.
