Light for indoor peppers

I'm growing some hot peppers indoors. I have some Thai Dragons, and Chocolate Habaneros. I just saw that our power rates changed, and I want to save money.

I'm thinking of giving my plants 16 hours of light, but split between night and early morning when power is cheaper. Has anyone tried doing that? Does it mess up how the plants grow or bloom? I'd love to hear what's worked for you. Trying to keep the heat without spending too much! Thanks everyone!

Okay, so using cheaper, off-peak hours for that 16-hour light cycle is a good idea, just make sure you do it the same time every day. Peppers are more about getting enough light and a steady rhythm than the exact time you turn the lights on.

I do the same with my setup... lights kick on at 9pm and shut off at 9am when rates are lowest. Peppers don't mind, they just need a regular on/off rhythm. Don't overthink it, just keep it steady every day.
