I decided to test out those 2oz condiment cups for germinating seeds instead of using trays or bags. I stacked five layers of paper towel inside and poked a small hole in each lid for ventilation and refilling. It worked so well on a heat mat and saved me so much space. Everything sprouted fast and I could monitor them easily. Now my friends are asking me to do their germination for them or something. Hahaha. Feeling like a king right now, let me tell you.

Damn, this sounds like a planting empire and you shouldn't ignore your friends needs :)

All jokes aside, have you thought about scaling this up for profit maybe?

Did you find the paper towels held moisture evenly in those cups, or did you have to top them off often? it sounds like a great low-cost setup, I might try it myself

Nice! It sounds like it worked perfectly on your heat mat. Its no surprise your friends want you to do theirs lol. Looks like you're the go-to seed sprouter now! By the way, did you pre-soak the seeds first or just pop them in dry with the paper towels?
