Hot peppers in cocktails?

The other night I was mixing drinks and wondered if has anyone tried infusing alcohol with hot peppers or adding them directly into cocktails?
I’m curious how the heat balances with the flavor, and whether certain peppers work better than others. Has anyone tried it? any tips or experiences would be awesome!

I’ve played around with pepper infusions in my tiny apartment bar setup. Jalapeños gave me a nice mellow warmth, but habaneros got spicy fast. How long are you thinking of infusing, a few hours or days? The timing makes a huge difference in how fiery things get.

Back when I worked in a kitchen, we’d toss sliced serranos straight into margaritas for a clean, bright heat. Have you tried muddling fresh peppers instead of infusing? It gives more control over the spice level and keeps the flavor super fresh.

tried a chili‑infused rum in Belize once. they used tiny bird’s‑eye peppers and only steeped them for a couple hours. It had a warm kick without blowing your head off.

I just made a BJCP M4C ('Experimental Mead') that included some dried Urfa Biber. It is fortified with Spiced Rum, raising the ABV from 16% to an estimated 18%. The dried peppers carries a nice flavor profile. Google says: "smoky, sweet, and earthy, with rich notes of chocolate, dried fruit (like raisins or prunes), tobacco, and tannins, plus a mild, slow-building heat."
