My first cayennes look sad

I got some of these cayenne peppers and planted this on a small garden on my balcony. They grew well at first but now the leaves look weak and light in color.
Not sure if it’s the sunlight or the soil. Any tips?

I'm guessing a nutrient issue, often nitrogen especially if the new growth is light but it could also be the soil running out of juice if they’ve been in the same pot a while, use a balance fertilizer

Because you’re on a balcony, soil in pots tends to get hot or dry faster, which stresses peppers. Use a blend that’s light, add compost, and water deeply but less often. A slow release fertilizer early in the season helps too. If nights are getting cool, the chill might be stunting growth.

Cayennes are heavy feeders. I had pale leaves until I added a balanced organic fertilizer every two weeks. Are you growing in pots or raised beds? That can affect nutrient retention.

Thanks for sharing that! I’ve got a few cayennes in pots on my patio and noticed the leaves looking a little tired too. What kind of organic fertilizer are you using, liquid or granular? I’m trying to keep things natural but haven’t found one that really works for them yet.
