pepper powder storage jars that don’t leak

I've got Reapers drying right now and plan to turn them into powder. Before I do, I need to figure out how to store it without turning my kitchen into a hazmat zone. Regular salt shakers feel too flimsy.... I want glass jars that seal tight but are still gift-friendly. Anybody have recommendations? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but I also don't want friends cursing me out when powder leaks everywhere. And while I'm at it: I've been tossing the trimmed Reaper leaves back into the soil like it's free fertilizer. Feels like a good idea, but is it actually doing anything, or am I just making myself feel better about cleanup?

Yes, go for glass jars with airtight seals! Look for jars that have a gasket or a rubber seal on the lid, not just a screw top. Ball or Mason jars with a two-part lid system are a reliable and affordable option. For a more gift-friendly look, you can find glass jars with a bail and wire clip closure that have a rubber ring for a good seal. As for the leaves, they will break down eventually and add some organic material back to the soil, so what you're doing is not a bad idea.
