Jalapenos too mild?

I grew jalapenos this season but they’re barely spicy. Same seeds as last year. Could soil or weather affect heat levels?

Same here! I grew some last summer with the same seeds, but they weren’t very hot. Cooler weather and too much water made them milder. Less water and warmer days help. Using soil with less nitrogen can also make them hotter. Funny how that works!
